I’m a senior at Davidson College majoring in History, though I’m on the path to (hopefully!) entering medical school in the near future. When I’m not working on my thesis on public health and medical charity in early twentieth-century Spain, I spend my time fostering on-campus community as part of Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), volunteering at Serenity House hospice facility, and translating at the Free Clinic at the Ada Jenkins Center. Last fall, I studied abroad in Madrid with Hamilton College, where I fell even more in love with the Spanish language and culture. This past spring I started volunteering with SiDES to share my enthusiasm for español with the young people of Davidson in the hopes of fostering a more internationally oriented and empathetic community here at home.
